LITCHFIELD — Elaine Waterhouse Shaw, 84, formerly of Lewiston, more recently of Litchfield, passed away on April 20 at the home of her son Glen Danforth in Litchfield.
She was born Sept. 23, 1928, in Poland, the daughter of Clifford and Louise Waterhouse. She graduated from the Woods School in Langhorne, Pa., in 1945. She worked at Central Maine General Hospital in Lewiston before marrying Richard Danforth in November 1958.
They were married for 11 years and had two children. She married Frank Shaw in 1978 and he died the following year. She worked at Auburn Nursing Home from 1983 until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Glen Danforth of Litchfield; her daughter, Sandra Danforth Fish of Durham; a stepdaughter, Meredith Danforth Perry of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband in 1979; and a stepdaughter, Diane Danforth McNally in July 2008.
