AUBURN — Gertrude D. Levesque, 76, of Poland, passed away Monday, April 22, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 13, 1936, daughter of the late Charles and Bernadette Guy Morin. She was educated in Lewiston schools and Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute. Gert was married Sept. 14, 1957 to Maurice A. Levesque. Prior to her retirement she was employed as food service supervisor at Good Shepherd Health Care for 30 years. Gert also served as campground activities director for 24 years for the Vaccaro family, owners of Range Pond Campground in Poland.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and enjoyed camping and bowling. Gert and her husband also enjoyed wintering in Zephyrhills, Fla., for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Maurice of Poland; a son, Donald M. and wife, Susan Levesque, of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Scott and Sarah Levesque; four sisters, Monique Cloutier and husband, Claude, of Poland, Doris Bergeron of Lewiston, Pauline Beauchesne and husband, Ronald, of Auburn, N.H., and Jeannine Dumont and husband, Richard, of Lewiston; two brothers, Charles Morin Jr. and wife, Theresa, of Lewiston and Paul Morin of Auburn; and 20 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Morin.
