AUBURN — Leonard K. Parlin Sr., 64, of Canton, died on Saturday, April 20, at the Hospice House.

Leonard was born in Rumford, July 7, 1948, a son of the late Harland G. and Geraldine (Ellis) Parlin. He grew up in Canton and attended school in Canton and Dixfield.

Leonard worked for Bass Shoe for many years. He also worked at the Hartford Transfer Station for 17 years after being forced into retirement after an illness in 1996. Later, Leonard worked for the town of Canton, as an operator at the Canton Transfer Station.

Leonard was a huge Red Sox fan and also enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family and never turned down an opportunity for Maine lobster. His favorite way to spend time however was with his friends fishing.

He is survived by his son, Leonard K. Parlin Jr. of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; his stepson, Jason Gammon of Hartford; his former wife, Patricia Gammon, also of Hartford; two sisters, Paula Young and her husband, Gregory and Vicki Parlin and a brother, Wendal Parlin, all of Canton; as well as several nephews.
