NORWAY — With only two days left to file nomination papers, it looks like Norway may have no contests for the annual town election June 11.

Town Clerk Shirley Boyce said the papers are due back by Monday, April 29.

Boyce said Thursday that each open position has a candidate but no challengers.

Former Selectman Bruce Cook has returned nomination papers for a seat on the Board of Selectmen.

Cook, who served a term from 2007 to 2010, is seeking one of two seats currently held by Irene Millett and Michael Twitchell. Twitchell has also returned nomination papers for a second term. Millett has said she will not seek re-election.

SAD 17 Director Donald Ware has returned nomination papers.

Doris Ray, David Wilson and incumbent Tom Curtis have returned nomination papers for one of three seats on the Norway Memorial Library Board of Trustees. Hiliary Ware and Karen Austin, who are also up for re-election, have not taken out nominations papers.
