RUMFORD — The Rumford Eagles will host a Child Advocacy Day, Mountain Valley Kids Festival, for area youth from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Eagles’ Lodge, 129 Rumford Ave.
Groups including GRCC, Mexico Recreation Department, RSU 10 wellness team and other youth groups will have presentations throughout the day.
Programs include eye retina scanning by the Rumford Police Department for child identification, 911 demonstrations by the Rumford Fire Department and a team from Rumford Community Hospital.
Safety topics will cover bullying, Internet safety, bicycle safety and ATV safety. There will be a bounce tent, games, prizes, balloons and face-painting.
A yard sale will be held in the parking lot, and hot dogs, hamburgers and fries will be available. Admission is free.
A spaghetti supper will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Eagles Function Hall followed by entertainment at 8 p.m. by the Hooligans. Cost is $6.
All money raised will benefit participating youth groups.
