RUMFORD — Prior to its regular 7 p.m. meeting Thursday, May 2, the Board of Selectmen will meet with the Board of Assessors at 5:30 p.m. in Rumford Falls Auditorium.
Under new business at the 7 p.m. meeting, Town Manager Carlo Puiia will ask the board to approve the annual town business meeting warrant for June 2013.
Selectmen will also hear a request from Puiia and Town Clerk Beth Bellegarde to approve filing certificates for proposed ordinances and ordinance amendments, and appoint a warden and deputy wardens for the annual election June 11.
Other new business includes:
* Requests from Annette Marin to display temporary signage on the day of the Farmer’s Market and to amend the beginning date of the Farmer’s Market to May 10, 2013.
* Approval of a hawker’s and peddler’s license for David Marchand, doing business as Dave’s Hot Dogs.
* Approval of a hawker’s and peddler’s license for Michael Philbrick, doing business as Danmark Concessions.
* Requests from the Public Works Department to approve the paint and gravel and winter sand bids, and to approve permanent roads, sidewalk and other summer projects.
* A request from Puiia to distribute the cable franchise fees.
* A request from the Comprehensive Planning Committee to place the final draft of the revised Comprehensive Plan on the annual town warrant for June.
* A request from River Valley Healthy Communities for a parade permit for a 5K race.
* A request from the American Legion for a parade permit for Memorial Day.
An executive session is also scheduled for police union negotiations.
