JAY —   Spruce Mountain rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Mt. Abram, 12-11, in MVC softball action on Wednesday.
Grace Ryan drove in the tying run and Casidee Couture the winning run for the Phoenix (4-2), who came back from an 8-3 deficit earlier in the game. Emily Acritelli and Grace Ryan led the Phoenix with two hits apiece, including a double. Katie Jordan and Alix Howard had three hits apiece to lead the Roadrunners (2-3).
Poland 5, Yarmouth 1
POLAND — Kylie Martin began the night with a single in the first to drive in two runs and didn’t slow down in the third with a sac fly to center for the fourth run as Poland topped Yarmouth on Wednesday.
Pitcher Kolby Woods had nine strikeouts and a walk, while Lindsay Theriault had a double and a single to help the Knights (4-3).
Telstar 14, Carrabec 2
NORTH ANSON —  Jessica Dirago hurled seven innings of one-hit softball Wednesday and drew ample run support as Telstar overpowered Carrabec 14-2 in a MVC matchup.
Rachel Wheeler and Ellie Conrad led the undefeated Rebels (5-0) with two hits and two RBIs, while Autum Berry and Becca Howard each drove in two runs in the fifth inning. Maisey Griffin also contributed with a pair of hits in a well-balanced attack. Jessica Vaillancourt started out on the hill for the Cobras (2-3) and suffered the loss.
St. Dom’s 11,
Wiscasset 10
AUBURN —  After their opponent put up four runs in both the fifth and sixth frames, St. Dom’s drew a walk with the bases loaded to edge Wiscasset 11-10 in KVAC softball action.
Sarah Trott led the Saints (1-4) with two hits and two RBIs.
Sam Ladd scattered eight hits in seven innings to notch the win.
Brie Gould belted an RBI homer in the third inning to lead the struggling Wolverines’ (0-5) offensive effort.
Kelly Chancellor and Courtney Reed each pounded out three hits, while Kat Gordon had two.
