The lack of a municipal parking lot was today given as a reason for Lewiston city employees receiving so many parking tickets and having them voided by the Traffic Department, with the explanation that city employees who had their tickets voided last year “were on official business” when tagged. It was reported that 3,517 traffic tags were voiced in 1962, and at least 1,714 were placed on vehicles of city employees, resulting in uncollected fines amounting to $857, at 50 cents a ticket.
