FORT KENT – Peru resident Hannah J. Mikkonen was one of 29 current University of Maine at Fort Kent nursing students inducted into the UMFK Nursing Honor Society at a special ceremony held April 18.

All students have excelled in the four-year Bachelor of Science in nursing program at UMFK and are very active in campus activities.

Students with a grade point average of 3.0 or above, in the top 30 percent of their graduating class and who represent the attributes of scholarship as defined by Boyer (1990) and Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society for Nursing, were eligible for induction.

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. — The School of Education and Professional Studies and the Graduate Division at Eastern Connecticut State University recently held its 13th Annual Excellence Expo.

Alexander Verrill ’13 of Hiram, was one of the participants. Verrill’s major is sport and leisure management.

ASHBURNHAM, Mass. — Lawrence Taylor, Class of 2013, of Raymond, received high honors for the winter 2013 term at Cushing Academy. To be named to the high honor roll, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.7 or above.
