RUMFORD — The Rumford Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting of the Members at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, in the auditorium of the Rumford Municipal Building.

The Nominating Committee will present the slate of officers and directors for year 2013-14, for election by the members.

The program will be presented by Louise Horne. Her program will feature fashions from the early settlers of Rumford. She will be presenting fashion styles for every 10 years from 1800 to the late 1960s.

Horne has presented Fashion History for many years at various venues such as The Andover Old Home Days Dinner Fashion Review; the 100th birthday of the Rumford Book Club; the Red Hat Society of Rumford, Mexico and Dixfield and many others. Garments, worn by actual live models, will show how people from the past dressed for various occasions.

Both men and women are encouraged to attend this last meeting of the year.

Following Horne’s program, light refreshments will be served.

The meeting is open to the public, and new members are always encouraged and welcomed.

All are asked to enter and exit the building from the River Street entrance, near the Rumford Police Dept.
