AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library continues to turn up the heat with another sizzling summer book launch by a Maine author. At 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 24, military history lovers are in for a treat when author Richard Rubin will discuss his newest book “The Last of the Doughboys.” In 2003, 85 years after the World War I armistice, it took Rubin months to find just one living American veteran of World War I. Eventually he managed to find dozens, ages 101 to 113, and interview them. Come hear Rubin share the tremendous stories of bravery that embodied the American Expeditionary Forces. The library is at 49 Spring Street. For more information, call 207-333-6640, ext. 4.
