WISCASSET — One person was killed and two others injured in a motor vehicle crash early Saturday morning on the Westport Bridge Road.
Wiscasset police responded at approximately 2:50 a.m. Saturday to Route 144, also known as the Westport Bridge Road, where a 2006 GMC pickup truck carrying three people had crashed, according to a release from the Wiscasset Police Department.
“It appears the driver lost control, went off the road and struck a tree,” the release states.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers were taken to Mid Coast Hospital. Police have not released the names of anyone involved.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. The crash was reconstructed by the Bath Police Department
The incident remains under investigation and no further details have been released. A call to the Wiscasset Police Department Saturday was not immediately returned.
