STANDISH — Schoolhouse Arts Center will present “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” a musical comedy conceived by Rebecca Feldman with music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Sheinkin and additional material by Jay Reiss, from June 21-July 7.

The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups. Directed by Michael Hjort, performances of will be held at 7:30 p.m. June 21, 22, 28, 29, July 5 and 6; and at 5 p.m. June 23, 30 and July 7. Tickets are $18 for adults; $16 for students and seniors.
