AUBURN — Roger F. Caron, 66, of Poland, died May 10, at the Auburn Hospice House, following a long illness.

He was born Dec. 1, 1946, in Lewiston, to the late Armand and Lucienne (Rancourt) Caron. As a youth, he worked in the family business, Caron and Sons Ice Co., and then later as a heavy equipment operator for several construction companies, including Longchamp and St. Laurent & Sons, until retiring due to ill health.

Roger loved the outdoors including fishing, camping, hunting, gardening and bird feeding, among his hobbies.

He is survived by his wife, Bridget (Messer-Wilson) Caron; daughter, Cathy Thomas of Texas; stepdaughter, Ashley Wilson of Poland; sister, Rita Laliberte of New Port Richey, Fla.; brother, Gerard Caron of Harrisville, N.Y.; an uncle, Berthand Caron of Lewiston; grandchildren, Steven, Brian and Michelle of Texas.

Roger was predeceased by his parents; brother, Roland Caron; sister, Jeannine Ellis; and daughter, Christine Caron.
