PARIS — Ryan Godin ripped an RBI single up the middle to plate Dylan Cox and lift Oxford Hills to a 9-8 victory over Cony in a hard-fought KVAC matchup Wednesday.
Nick Bowie, Dalton Rice and Jordan Croteau all belted out a pair of hits for the Vikings (11-1), while Nick Attaliades-Ryan also had two hits. Riley Chickering picked up the mound win after relieving Walter Feeney in the fifth frame.
The Rams (8-3) were paced by Chandler Shostak with three hits, while Zack Lachance belted out two hits.
Spruce Mountain 22, Telstar 2
BETHEL — Kyle Souther and Matt Vigue drove in a whopping eight RBIs as Spruce Mountain outgunned Telstar at home, 22-2 in MVC baseball action.
Pitcher Lucas Preble remained undefeated for the Phoenix (7-4), striking out three batters and placing two hits. Brandon Stearns sliced two hits while Payton Kennison scattered two and a double on the day.
Ricky James had the loss on the mound for the Rebels (1-9), while Hunter Chase had two hits.
Lewiston 9, Mt. Ararat 1
TOPSHAM — Eddie Emerson and Michael Wong combined on a four-hitter as Lewiston pulled away from Mt. Ararat, 9-1, in KVAC baseball action on Wednesday.
Emerson struck out 11 and allowed only four hits in 5 2/3 innings. Wong relieved him with the bases loaded in the sixth and got out of the jam with a strikeout to preserve a 4-1 lead. After the Blue Devils (8-4) piled on five more runs in the top of the seventh, Wong struck out the side in the bottom of the frame to pick up the save.
Eric Soucy had two hits, including a three-run double in the seventh, and scored twice to lead the offense. Wong added two hits and Brian Wigant had a two-run single. Zach Miller led the Eagles (3-9) with three hits.
Leavitt 4, Winslow 2
WINSLOW — Levi Morin shut down the Winslow offense, holding them to two runs, as Leavitt topped Winslow on the road, 4-2.
Sam Godfrey and Tyler Hutchinson notched two hits each for the Hornets (5-6). Marshall Weiss relieved Morin in the sixth inning to get the save, and gave up just one base hit. Leavitt outscored Winslow from the start, scratching three runs on the board in the first four innings.
Zach Guptill and Greg Smith each had an RBI for the Black Raiders (10-2), while Derek Camp took the loss on the mound.
Edward Little 7, Brunswick 3
AUBURN — Nate Pushard got the win on the mound, while helping his own effort by launching three hits for three RBIs as Edward Little overwhelmed Brunswick 7-3 Wednesday.
Llewellyn Jensen and Brandon Knapp each sliced two hits on the day for the Red Eddies (4-7). Brian Crane knocked the only extra base hit on the day with a double for EL.
Derek Devereaux, Ryan Maciejewski, Ryan Brescia, and Adam Casey all scattered two hits for the Dragons (4-7). John Parker took the loss on the mound, allowing seven earned runs through six innings.
Dirigo 4, Mountain Valley 3
RUMFORD — Gavin Arsenault improves to 4-0 on the season as a freshman, striking out nine batters and allowing just three earned runs on five hits, as Dirigo shut down Mountain Valley, 4-3, in MVC baseball action.
T.J. Frost led the way for the Cougars (9-2), smacking a double for two RBIs in the sixth inning. Brian Volkernick and Kaine Hutchins each scattered a double to support Arsenault.
Josh Rainey and Sean Murphy each sliced two hits for the Falcons (6-4), while Rainey took the loss on the mound.
Falmouth 11, Poland 7
POLAND — Drew Proctor drove in five runs on two hits Wednesday to propel Falmouth to a 11-7 win over Poland in an MVC baseball tilt.
Luke Velas chipped in for the Clippers (9-1) with two hits and three RBIs, while Andrew Emple also plated a pair of runs.
Connor Murphy scattered six hits in five innings to notch the win.
Lacrosse
St. Dom’s 15, Lincoln Academy 8
AUBURN — Nick Hatfield took part in 10 of 15 goals on the day, hurling seven of his own while assisting three as St. Dom’s topped Lincoln 15-8 in lacrosse on Wednesday.
Grant Carrier and Dalton Lorenz each knotched three goals of their own in the victory, while Kenton Ernst tallied one for the Saints (4-5).
Alex Michaud along with Ben Sawyer held the Eagles (3-6) to just eight goals all afternoon.
John Riley led the way for Lincoln, snagging four goals with an assist on the day. Jake Millett sniped two of his own scores and made two assists, while Eric Organ stopped 11 shots on the day for the Eagles.
