AUBURN — The Maine Blues Society will host their annual Road to Memphis Blues competition from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at American Legion Post 31. Nine bands and five solo acts will perform for a chance to compete on the International Blues Stage in Memphis, Tenn. in January 2014. Each group has 20 minutes to perform.

The blues bands include Pat Pepin Project, Downeast Soul Coalition, Between Dead Stations, Pokechop and TOWM, Wicked Blues Band, Michael Mendez Band, Missing Pieces, Zealous Bellus, and Juke Rockets Blues Band.

The five solo acts are Brad Hooper, Bad King Bosco, Johnny Rock, Dan Scofield, and Easy Rider and Hurricane.

The Legion hall is at 426 Washington Avenue North. Parking is free. Donations accepted. The bar and kitchen will be open. Proceeds to benefit the Raise The Roof campaign.
