SALEM TOWNSHIP — Taylor Jordan spun a five-inning no-hitter Friday, striking out 10 and leading Mt. Abram to a 17-0 MVC softball win over Boothbay.
Jordan also had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Jill Howard added two triples and three RBIs and snared a line drive to preserve the no-hitter for the Roadrunners (5-6). Kate Jordan tacked on three hits.
Mt. Abram took advantage of five errors by Boothbay (0-12).
Leavitt 12, Morse 8
TURNER — Michelle Morin got it done on offense and defense, throwing her 12th complete game on the season while adding three hits and a double as Leavitt topped Morse 12-8 in KVAC girls’ softball action Friday.
Sierra Santomango and Sarah Pare scattered three hits each to give Morin the needed run support. Pare supported her already good day at the plate with three RBI for the Hornets (2-10).
Lucy Rawson, Megan Stoyer and Kate Dube sliced two hits each for the Shipbuilders (1-11).
Edward Little 12, Mt. Blue 8
FARMINGTON — Kory Norcross didn’t start off small, launching a solo home run and smacking a triple and finishing with three hits on the day as Edward Little overcame a late rally by Mt. Blue, 12-8.
Hannah Farrington had three hits on the day including a triple. Danica Nadeau and Danielle Rock guided two hits each for the Red Eddies (7-5).
Molly Murray got the win pitching with Kory Norcross relieving her in the seventh to close out. Addie Brinkman had the only extra base hit for the Cougars (1-12) with a double.
Brewer 3, Oxford Hills 0
BREWER — Alexa Grindle was near flawless on Friday, shutting down the Oxford Hills offense and helping her own effort at the plate as Brewer pulled out a 3-0 win over Oxford Hills in KVAC girls’ softball.
Grindle smacked two hits, both doubles. She had good hitting support from Maddy Bailey, who crushed a triple for the Witches (13-0).
Crystal West took the loss on the mound for the Vikings (10-3). Shannon Fillebrown placed two base hits.
Monmouth 3, Dirigo 2
MONMOUTH — Monmouth shut out Dirigo through six innings Friday and held on for a 3-2 MVC softball victory.
Becki Bryant drove in two runs with a base hit in the third innings and Kylie Kemp had an RBI in the fifth. Bryant and Kemp each went 2-for-3.
Paxton Lessard relieved Bryant in the third inning. She gave up run-scoring singles in the seventh to Natalie Bolduc and Tasha DeRoche before sealing the win for the Mustangs (5-6). DeRoche led Dirigo (8-5) with two hits.
Mountain Valley 5, Hall-Dale 4
RUMFORD — Junior catcher Katie Collette had a double and scored the winning run as Mountain Valley swooped in for a 5-4 victory over Hall-Dale in MVC softball Friday.
The Falcons (7-4) made a series of sacrifice hits to score single runs in each of the first three innings.
The Bulldogs rallied for four fourth inning runs. But the Falcons came back for a pair in the bottom of the inning. Collette doubled, and on the next play scored on one of the Bulldogs’ five errors for the evenutal winning run.
Sophomore Lindsay Marston earned the mound win for Mountain Valley, while Olivia Maynard took the loss in relief for Hall-Dale.
Lacrosse
Lewiston 15, Camden Hills 11
CAMDEN — Kelsey Dumond launched six goals into the net as Lewiston outgunned Camden Hills 15-11 in girls’ lacrosse action Friday.
Laurianne Murphy and Natalie Rousseau each netted two goals and two assists on the day for the Blue Devils (7-2). Emma Burgess stayed in net for Lewiston until Brianna Lajoie came in at the half to secure the victory. Lewiston out shot Camden Hills 32-19 in the win while utilizing six different scorers throughout the game.
Lea Smith and Alice Flint hurled four goals and three goals respectively for the Windjammers (5-4). Favary Lamont held her own in the net finishingthe game with 12 saves for Camden Hills.
Lewiston 10, Mt. Ararat 8
LEWISTON — Laurianne Murphy netted four goals to lead Lewiston to a 10-8 victory over Mt. Ararat in a Wednesday girls’ lacrosse match.
Jess Cote and Natalie Rousseau chipped in two goals goals each for the Blue Devils (6-2), while Kelsey Dumond and Emily Paione each scored once.
