JAY — The Police Department will sponsor a free all-terrain vehicle safety course Saturday, June 22, at the Spruce Mountain Middle School cafeteria.
The course will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. It will be taught by Cpl. Jeff Fournier and Detective Richard Caton IV, state-certified instructors.
The course is limited to 15 students. Children between the ages of 10 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the class.
Each student will be required to bring a lunch. Helmets are required. Those without helmets might be able to have one provided by an instructor.
“Please help us keep you and your family safe while enjoying your ATV,” police Chief Larry White Sr. said in a news release.
Anyone wishing to take the course may call the Police Department at 897-6766 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
