CAMDEN — A 38-year-old Lincolnville man is being held at the Knox County Jail after being arrested Friday and charged with stealing drugs from a resident of a retirement home.

Isaac M. Young was charged with burglary, theft and violating a condition of release.

According to an affidavit filed in Rockland District Court by Camden police, Young was spotted on a surveillance video leaving a Camden Hills Villa residence on May 9. A nurse who cares for that resident later told police that 15 to 20 hydrocodone pills were missing from her patient’s unit.

Young, who worked as a cook at the retirement village, no longer works at the home.

Management told police he was found with property of another resident on another occasion and claimed that the resident had given it to him, according to the affidavit.

Young had been free on bail on a charge of operating under the influence before his arrest Friday. His bail conditions from the OUI charge stipulated that he not commit any new offenses.

At his initial appearance in Rockland District Court on the new charges Monday, Judge Susan Sparaco set bail at $1,000 cash.
