I am writing with regard to the fires that have occurred recently in Lewiston.

People are rushing to help people who are looking for places to live. I would like to know why they aren’t helping homeless people? They are willing to help people who are on welfare and receiving food stamps.

We are people who have worked all our lives and yet others are collecting what should be going to people who have worked for what should be theirs.

As a paying citizen all my life, why should people come to this country and get so many benefits?

As for Mayor Robert Macdonald, he is 100 percent right when he says freeloading is going to stop. Keep up the good work, mayor. I am behind you.
