NORWAY — The Norway Parks & Recreation Department invites everyone to the annual Don Butters Memorial Game at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at the Lovejoy Farm Sports Complex.

Butters was the key to this field being constructed. He donated his own time and machinery and was instrumental in getting others to help with theirs. Every time there was a glitch, Donnie was there with a solution.

The Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Chorus will sing the National Anthem. Don’s 2-year-old granddaughter, Maddie McCartney, will throw out the first pitch.

Norway Youth Baseball will conduct a 50/50 to aid their program; the winning ticket will be drawn at the end of the fourth inning.

The Snack Shack, run by the Recreation Department, will be open. To add to the festivities, the Recreation Department will draw from the 50/50 ticket jar to give away food at the end of the first, second and third innings. The winning tickets will be returned to the jar for the 50/50 drawing.

At 6 p.m. the Majors Game will start with the Norway Vikings vs. Paris Colts.

To get to the complex take Grove Street to the end, take a right and follow the gravel road. For more information contact Deb Partridge, Norway Parks & Recreation director, at 743-6651 or debpart@megalink.net.
