AUBURN – George A. Libby Jr., 77, of Oxford, passed away on Sunday, May 19, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born in South Paris on Feb. 26, 1936, son of George A., Sr. and Edna (Bassett) Libby. George married Judy Rowe and was a woodworker for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Glen Libby and wife, Karen, of Paris, Deborah Libby and companion, Boyen Thompson, of Rochester, N.H., Dorothy Morrill and husband, Richard Brown, of Otisfield; Becky Libby and companion, Rodney Waterman, of Fryeburg, and Lenora and husband, Jay Belliveau, of Norway; stepson, David Smith and wife, Jillian, of Bedford, N.H.; 20 grandchildren, Anthony Libby and wife, Kimberly, Keith Libby, Michael Fortier and wife, Shelly, Benjamin Fortier and companion, Megan True, Heather Libby, Stacy and husband, Seth Bushey, Christopher and wife, Claire Mowatt, Erica and husband, Ian Grover, Andrew Morrill, Effrum Morrill and companion, Jennifer Callahan, Dylan Morrill, Dustin Morrill, Jeremy Belliveau, April Belliveau, Ethan Smith, Madison Smith, Gary, Christopher and Nickolas; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley Raimey and Caroline.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Virginia; sisters, Judith Walker, Maxine Pope and Beryle Strout; and brothers, Warren Tibbetts, Herman Libby and Sherman Libby.
