POLAND — Lukas Johnson allowed just two hits and fanned four in six innings and also hit his second home run of the season to lead Poland to a 6-0 shutout win against Lake Region in WMC baseball action on Wednesday.
Kaleb Bridgham’s RBI double and an RBI single by Corey Cunliffe allowed Poland to erupt with three runs in the third inning. Bridgham went 3-for-4 and scored one run. Jake Simard singled twice and had double.
Cony 13, EL 3
AUBURN — Reid Shostak launched a pair of doubles and a triple and drove in five runs as Cony used a 12-hit attack and thumped Edward Little, 13-3, in a five-inning baseball game Wednesday.
The Rams (10-3) scored nine runs in the fifth inning. Zac Lachance singled and doubled twice, driving in three runs. Thomas Foster and Keith Cloutier each got two hits. John Simpson was credited with the win on the mound for Cony.
For Edward Little (5-8), Nate Pushard doubled.
Maranacook 3, Leavitt 2
READFIELD — Zack Elwell had two hits and tossed a complete game, striking out six batters, as Maranacook topped Leavitt 3-2 in KVAC baseball action.
Matthew Delmar and Tucker Whitman each smacked a single and tallied an RBI for the Black Bears (7-6). Keith Johnson made the best of his one hit on the night, stealing two bases and scoring a run for Maranacook.
Marshall Weiss had the loss on the mound for the Hornets (5-9). Tyler Hutchinson and Levi Morin had two hits each in the loss.
Lewiston 3, Brunswick 1
LEWISTON — Nick Perreault’s two run double gave Lewiston the edge as it defeated Brunswick 3-1 in KVAC baseball action Wednesday.
Eddie Emerson earned the win on the mound for the Blue Devils (9-5), while striking out four batters.
Ryan Macigewski and John Parker each scattered a double for the Dragons (4-11), while Brady Larson tagged in two hits as well. Larson had a solid day on the mound, allowing just three hits and striking out five.
St. Dom’s 10, Mt. Valley 0
AUBURN — Zakary Johnson completed his sixth personal victory of the year shutting down the Mt. Valley offense and getting his bat going, as St. Dom’s outgunned Mt. Valley 10-0 in MVC baseball action.
Johnson led the way for the Saints (14-1), slicing three hits, including a double. Johnson had solid run support from Caleb Dostie and Mitch Lorenz, who matched his double and collected two hits each.
Lorenz secured the win with a bases-loaded single that scored three runs for St. Dom’s in the fourth inning. Lorenz was later driven home by Michael Bryant with a single. Adam Volkernick took the loss on the mound for the Falcons (7-7).
Gray-New Gloucester 11, Wells 2
GRAY — Justin McKenna went the distance pitching, holding the Wells offense to two runs on three hits, as Gray-New Gloucester prevailed over Wells 11-2.
McKenna had great run support from Kevin Cavallaro, who smacked a triple and a single, along with Thomas Woods, who had three hits. McKenna helped his own effort by placing two hits as well for the Patriots (4-10).
Connor Pease had the loss on the mound for the Warriors (3-11), while being relieve by Joseph Spinelli in the third, Shawn Ramsey in the fourth, and Nick Ramsey in the sixth.
Oxford Hills 10, Erskine 1
SOUTH CHINA — Nick Bowie crushed a grand slam in the second inning to send Oxford Hills to a 10-1 win over Erskine in KVAC baseball action.
Bowie finished the day with three hits, one being a double. Walter Feeney threw six innings, getting his fifth win of the season for the Vikings (13-1). Jordan Croteau caught for Feeney, while supporting his effort by placing two hits on the day.
Jacob Rideout went three innings and gave up four runs for the Eagles (4-10). For Erskine, Ryan Rodriguez and Nick Gayer each chipped in a double.
