BENTON — Kevin M. “Brownie” Brown, 50, of Benton, passed away on May 28; after a courageous battle with cancer. Kevin was married to his high school sweetheart, Ruth McCluskey in 1986. They were blessed to have just celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary.
Kevin was born in Waterville on May 10, 1963. Kevin received his diploma from Waterville High School and served in the U.S. Army. Kevin was a member of the 1152nd Maintenance Company of the National Guard.
Kevin worked for several years for the Morning Sentinel and Kennebec Journal and his most recent employment with an outstanding employer, The Sun Journal of Lewiston.
Kevin especially enjoyed his time with the Benedicta “Horseman” as well as riding his motorcycle and snowmobile with countless friends. Kevin looked forward to his annual trip to Laconia for bike week. Kevin also enjoyed spending many hours in his garage and the “man cave.”
Kevin showed great pride in all that he had acquired thru his years. He had a passion for cars that speaks for itself. Another importance for Kevin was spending time with his grandchildren, Olivia and Isaac. His dog, Asia, was a comfort to him thru the recent long hard days.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne Brown of Benton; his daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Chris Leonard, of Vassalboro; his grandchildren, Olivia and Isaac Leonard of Vassalboro; Kevin’s Uncle Hubert and his wife, Mary Brown, of Winslow; his brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Kevin was predeceased by his mother, Charlene Brown; and his son, Stephen M. Brown.
A special thanks to the Sun Journal for being so supportive thru these times and to MaineGeneral Hospice for their visits and care.
