Jay Elementary School students received a special surprise celebrating their positive behavior. Principal Chris Hollingsworth gave each classroom an extra half-hour recess and an ice cream sandwich to show them that their behavior in school is important. Staff looks for students making good choices and reinforces their behavior by giving those students a “bee” to put in their classroom bucket. Hollingsworth sets a goal that the school needs to reach and once they reach that goal, there is a celebration school wide. Students have a chance to receive one more until the end of the school year.
