I can’t believe what people in Augusta and the Sun Journal are saying … that adding 70,000 people to MaineCare will be free. That the federal government is paying 100 percent of it.
Where is the federal government getting that money?
Anyone who pays federal income tax will be paying for those 70,000 people. And, at the end of three years, it will be 70 percent free and the 30 percent gets paid with Maine income taxes.
I don’t care how you cut the pie … I am still paying 100 percent because I am working.
Everyone complains about government spending too much money, and here we are, trying to add to that deficit.
The problem is that very soon there will be more people getting welfare than those working. They then vote for candidates who will give them more benefits without working, and each year it gets worse.
People need to wake up and smell the manure that is piling up in Augusta. Officials there should find a way to pay the hospitals what is due them, but don’t start adding more money to my federal and state income tax bill.
