LEWISTON — Helen “Betty” E. Crocker, 88, a resident of Norris Hill Road, Monmouth, died Tuesday, June 4, at d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born July 12, 1924, in Waltham, Mass., the only child of George and Gladys (Miles) Caswell. Betty was a 1942 graduate of Erskine Academy in South China.

On May 10, 1945, in Augusta, she married Forrest Edwin Crocker, Forrest passed away in 2010. Betty was a housewife, and in Betty’s words “forever.”

She enjoyed doing word games, rug hooking, shopping, playing cards, especially Spite and Malice and she also liked playing Scrabble with her friends. Betty also enjoyed music; her favorite group was The Gaithers. Her family and her grandchildren were very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Mystic Chapter 69 in Litchfield.

She is survived by her two sons, Phillip Crocker of Colonia, N.J., and Michael K. Crocker of Ventura, Calif.; her daughter, Betsy J. Foote of North Monmouth; daughter-in-law, Patricia Crocker of Kingsbury Plantation; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Forrest; her daughter, Meredith “Robin” E. Smith in 2012; and her son, Daniel L. Crocker of Kingbury Plantation, who passed away on Wednesday, June 5, the day after his mother’s death.
