AUBURN — Laurier O. Albert, 83, of Main Street, Lewiston, died Wednesday, June 5, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

He was born in Lewiston, Dec. 19, 1929, a son of the late David and Brazil (Vermette) Albert. He has been a lifelong resident of this community.

Larry was educated in local schools and graduated from St. Dom’s, Class of 1948. He then went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954 on the USS Samuel Roberts and the USS Johnston. Larry worked for 25 years at the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.

Larry married Cecile Doyon on Sept. 29, 1963, she predeceased him in 1993. He was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

He leaves his wife, Connie (Sasseville) Albert of Lewiston; a stepson, Michael Sassesville of Lewiston; a stepdaughter, Karen and husband, Ralph Sorrentino of New York; stepgrandchildren, Amanda, Michael II Nicole, Adam Jacob and Brianna; a stepgreat-grandson, Anson; a very special niece, who was like a sister to him, Rachel Larrivee and her husband, Robert of Florida; a great-nephew, David Larrivee and his fianceé, Mary Guy of Lewiston; and a great-niece, Tammy Webster and her husband, Adam of Canada.

He was predeceased by a brother, Rene Albert.
