BRANFORD, Conn. — Barbara Ann Fodor Butler, 74, of Rumford,formerly of Fairfield, Conn., devoted wife of the late Freeman Butler, passed away peacefully on June 8, in Connecticut Hospice.

Born in Bridgeport and raised in Fairfield, Barbara was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Fodor. She married the love of her life, Freeman, in 1959, and dedicated herself to being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. After Freeman’s retirement, they moved to Maine, where many happy years were spent passionately tending to their home and gardens.

Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cheryl Carestia of New Hampshire, Lisa Butler and James Butler of Massachusetts; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Boone, Jason Carestia, Leonard Archuletta, Ashley Goodick, Micheal Butler, Christopher Butler, Brittany Cremmen, Nicole Cremmen and Jake Cremmen; her great-grandchildren, Marcus, Skylar, Erin, Emma, Benjamin, Cody, Bennett, Addison, Summer and Jack; her siblings, Marian Nerientz and William Fodor; nieces and nephews, Roberta Lotzko, Patricia Gavin, Robert Lotzko and Gary Lotzko.

She was predeceased by her son, Freeman Butler.
