RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of the Rev. George W. Goudreau was celebrated Monday at Parish of the Holy Savior. The principal celebrant was Fr. George’s brother, the Rev. Paul Goudreau. Principal con-celebrants were Fr. George’s brother, Monsignor Joseph Goudreau and the Rev. Albert Colpitts; and other con-celebrating priests were Monsignors, Andrew Dubuis and Paul Stefanko, the Very Rev. Paul Plante and the Revs. Robert Vaillancourt, Alfred Jacques, Philip M. Tracy, C. James Martel, Roger Chabot, Gerald Levesque, Joseph Daniels, Tom Lequin and Claude Gendreau. The homily was delivered by the Rev. Colpitts. Offertory gifts were presented by Fr. George’s brother, Robert Goudreau and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Goudreau. The Old Testament was presented by nephew, Robert Goudreau Jr. and the New Testament by nephew, Paul Goudreau. Prayer of the faithful was offered by niece, Patricia Saunders. At the conclusion of Mass, a message from the Most Reverend Richard Malone, Bishop — Administrator of Portland, was read by the Very Rev. Plante. Organist was Mark Belanger, accompanied by the choir. Music selections were “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Ave Maria,” “On Eagles Wings,” “Fly Like a Bird” and “Veni Jesu.” All of the priests sang “Salve Regina.” Bearers were John Tozier, Paul Goudreau, Peter Goudreau, Philip Mills, Kenneth Goronson and Robert Goudreau. Interment was at St. John Cemetery. Committal prayers were offered by his brother. Monsignor Goudreau. A reception served by the Daughters of Isabella was in the parish hall.
