BETHEL — 100 years Bethel of Fashions: “Show & Tell” Call to Community

The Mahoosuc Arts Council and Bethel Inn Resort have teamed up to celebrate the inn’s 100th anniversary with a “Ten Decades of Fashions” show, at the Bethel Inn Resort Conference Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 6, after the 24th annual Bethel Art Fair.

The show will feature one outfit from each decade of the inn’s history, for both men and women alike, flapper wedding dresses, leather waders, fish-basket back packs, ball gowns, go-go boots, platform shoes, bell bottoms, huge shoulder pads, vamp tailoring, Art Deco handbags, ’70s golf caps and more.

The event will kick off with a free community Show and Tell from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the Bingham Hall, 45 Church St., at Gould Academy.

Anyone with men’s or women’s clothing and accessories that represent one of the decades of the past 100 years is invited to come show and tell all about it, just like in elementary school. Items may be selected for modeling at the show.

Organizers would also like to see vintage golf and fishing gear, ladies hats and gloves, and accessories like perfume bottles and handbags. An exhibit of vintage items is being built to display at the fashion show.

Call 207-890-6386 for more information or just arrive with items. This is a free event for all ages.
