1925 – 2013
AUBURN — Muriel Parent Landry, 88, formerly of 91 McNamara St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, June 11, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, with her family by her side.
She was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Lewiston, a daughter of Rodolphe and Roberta Ouellette Parent. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1943. On June 8, 1946, she married Real Landry at Holy Family Church in Lewiston.
For many years, she and her husband made their home at 91 McNamara St., Lewiston. They were members of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church.
A lively, friendly and engaging person, she will be remembered for her work at the Lewiston Public Library from 1960 to 1989, where she served in every department, twice as acting director. She and her husband enjoyed bowling, cribbage and traveling, including trips to visit family and explore many parts of the country.
She is survived by her daughter, Joline Beam and her husband, Christopher, of Lewiston; her sons, Paul Landry and his wife, Susan, of Sinking Spring, Pa., and Roger Landry and his wife, Mary Karren-Landry, of Poland Spring; her grandchildren, David Beam and his wife, Clare, Michael Beam and his wife, Sarah, Gregory Beam and his wife, Kimberly McKean, Thomas Landry and his partner, Scott Miller, Kathryn Radiosky and her husband, Martin, and Peter Landry and his wife, Rachel Sholly; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Juhette of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Real, on Jan. 29, 1996; her sister and two brothers.
