BETHEL — Voters in SAD 44 passed a $10,371,000 operating budget Tuesday by a vote of 299-222.
They also approved continuing the two-vote process for approving the budget for the next three years.
“I’m very pleased to see the budget pass and I’m sure I can speak for the board, too,” Superintendent David Murphy said Wednesday.
The town votes were: Andover, 31-50; Bethel, 170-127; Greenwood, 24-6; Newry, 23-23; and Woodstock, 51-16.
For continuing the two-vote budget process, all towns but Greenwood approved it. The tallies were: Andover, 46-36; Bethel, 172-121; Greenwood, 22-23; Newry, 15-15, Woodstock, 44-21.
