1957 – 2013
AUBURN — Vicki Keene Hyde, 55, a resident of Peru, died the morning of Wednesday, June 12, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 18, 1957, in Lewiston, the daughter of Lloyd Keene and Annie (Akers) Keene and stepfather Elmer Gordon. She was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School.
Vicki worked in the local shoe shops and later as a CNA in nursing homes.
She enjoyed knitting and planting flowers. Vicki adored her children and grandchildren, and especially enjoyed the times they spent together.
She is survived by her son, Jason Hyde and companion, Kim Gallant, of Peru; her daughter, Heather Remick and husband, Eric, of Wilton; stepdaughter, Carla Neil of Livermore; grandchildren, Katelynn and Tyler Remick, Adriana Gallant, Nikole Breau, Victoria Averill and Colby Hyde; five brothers, Charles Keene and his companion, Barbara Guild, of Livermore; Roger Keene and his wife, Joanne, of Turner; Brian Keene and his wife, Jane, of Livermore; Mike Keene of Livermore; and Robert “Sonny” Frost and his wife, Sharon, of Kansas; three sisters, Donna Davis and her husband, Dave, of Peru; Joanne Leighton and her husband, Elwood, of Livermore Falls; and Laurie Keene of Livermore Falls; many nieces and nephews; and her devoted dog, Buddy.
She was predeceased by her parents and many other loved ones.
