LPL offers teen reading program
LEWISTON — Beginning on June 23, Lewiston Public Library will be offering teens ages 13 to 18 a weekly chance to win great prizes, simply by reading three or more hours per week. The library wants to encourage teenagers to keep up with their reading during the long summer months so they will not lose academic ground during the break.
Participants may read any type of reading material and any genre they want. As long as they meet their reading goal for the week, they will be eligible to choose from a weekly prize or a raffle ticket for a larger prize. The raffle drawing will be held at the beginning of August, and prizes include Dr. Dre Beats headphones, soccer balls, an art kit, Flagship Cinemas and Bull Moose Music gift cards and an iPod shuffle.
Teens may sign up as early as June 17, and the first week to read begins on June 23.
