LAKELAND, Fla. — Niki Sue Keogh, 38, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away on Dec. 8, 2012, of melanoma.
Niki was born on Oct. 1, 1974, in Rumford. She was a 1993 graduate of Mountain Valley High School, where she was a member of the field hockey team and cheerleading squad. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine, and a master’s degree in education from the University of South Florida. She was a national board certified teacher and taught second grade at Gibbons Street Elementary in Bartow, Fla.
Niki enjoyed exercising, running, scrapbooking and entertaining. She was very outgoing and had a great sense of humor. She is loved and will be missed by her husband, Patrick Keogh of Lakeland, Fla.; her parents, Nick and Sue Brown of Mexico; her grandparents, Leonard and Yvonne Barrieau of Clermont, Fla.; aunts and uncles, Scott and Jo-Ann Broomhall, Tim and Lisa Barrieau, Nancy Brown of Rumford, Sandra Barrieau of South Paris, and Jeff Barrieau of Orlando, Fla.; in-laws, Joan Keogh and John Lynch of Englewood, Fla., and John Keogh and Lynda George of West Hartford, Conn.; cousins, Heidi and Andrew Broomhall, Brett and Camron Barrieau, and Kacy Barrieau. She will also be missed by her many friends.
She was predeceased by her great-grandparents, Theophile and Alice Lanteigne, and Oliver and Bella Barrieau; and her grandmother, Madeline Brown.
