PORTLAND — Two-time Grammy winner Mickey Hart of Grateful Dead fame will perform with his band at 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress Street, as part of the Superorganism Tour.

The show will feature brand new material from the Mickey Hart Band’s upcoming album Superorganism, as well as cuts from their 2012 album Mysterium Tremendum, selections of Hart’s greatest hits, and Grateful Dead songs.

The tour is also a 70th birthday celebration for Hart. To celebrate, special guests will perform with Hart at each show on the tour.

The Mickey Hart Band consists of Grammy-winning percussionist and longtime band mate Sikiru Adepoju, Tony Award-winning vocalist Crystal Monee Hall, singer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Bagale, drummer Greg Schutte, guitarist Gawain Matthews and keyboardist/sound engineer Jonah Sharp.

One hundred percent of the ticketing fees from tickets sold through Mickeyhart.net will go to fund Musical Therapy Research at the University of California at San Francisco. For more information about this program, visit www.rhythmandthebrain.com.
