AUBURN — Olivette L. Bazinet, 93, of Auburn, passed away Sunday, June 16, at Clover Manor, following a long illness.
She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 18, 1920, a daughter of the late Marius and Yvonne (Tardif) Perrier. She grew up in the Lewiston area and attended local schools. After high school, she worked in the shoe industry. During that time, she married Albert Bazinet Sr. and they started a family together.
After their family was raised, they moved to Florida, where they resided for many years. Olivette moved back to Maine in 2009. Olivette will always be remembered for her love of family gatherings, reading and traveling.
She is survived by her children, Albert “Billy” J. Bazinet and his wife, Claudette, of Auburn, Thomas Perrier and his wife, Kim, of Pennsylvania, and a daughter-in-law, Jeannette Bazinet of Auburn; her grandchildren, Wendy, Andy and P.J. Perrier, Angel Duda, Robert Thompson, Jeff, Jim and Shawn Bazinet, Bridget and Chris Shea, Shelly and Gene Groves and Stephanie and Derek Gagnon; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Olivette was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Albert Sr.; a son, Jack; a daughter, Diane Lavoie; and two sisters, Blanche Bouvier and Dorothy Jalbert.
The family wishes to personally send their thanks and gratitude to the staffs of both Clover Manor and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their dedication, compassion and thoughfullness shown to Olivette in her final days.
