FRYEBURG — White Mountain Musical Arts has announced the 25th annual performance of this  weekend of Baroque music, the Bach Festival. A three-day festival weekend will be presented on Friday and Saturday evening, Aug. 23-24, and Sunday afternoon, Aug. 25, at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center, Fryeburg Academy.

A goal of presenting the Bach Festival is to provide an opportunity for everyone to experience the beauty of the Baroque Era and to help relate this classic music to our enjoyment of the arts in the present. Whether the listener is familiar with the music of the Baroque Era or is interested in becoming acquainted with its beauty, they will find enjoyment in the special 25th Anniversary opening Celebration on Friday night.

Aug. 23 launches the weekend with a garden party supper and distinctive program: “The sights and sounds of J.S.Bach” kicking off the weekend with food, art, and a presentation by John Day, director of the Pace Galleries of Art and guest musicians.

The Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon concerts will include both instrumental and vocal music of the Baroque period involving small groups, soloists and the Bach Festival Chorus and Orchestra.

Dr. Robert Lehmann will be welcomed back this year for his sixth season as the WMMA music director, festival conductor and soloist.

All festival performances will take place at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center in Fryeburg and tickets may be purchased at the box office, or by calling 207-935-9232 or at the Bach Festival website. Ticket prices are $20-Adults, $15-Seniors (65+), and $10-Students and will also be available at the door.
