CUMBERLAND — Paul E. Michaud, 89, of Cumberland Foreside, died Tuesday, June 18 at his home, with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 23, 1923, the son of the late Irenee and Louise Paquette Michaud. He graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1942, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member and communicant of Holy Martyrs Parish in Falmouth.

During a long and successful professional career, he was employed by New England Trading Co. (TJX Co.) for 38 years as regional manager for Bell Shops. He later served as vice president of American Stabilis, where he was in charge of manufacturing.

He was active upon retirement and handled distribution of Orrs Island Chowder to retail outlets throughout Maine. Paul will be remembered for his love of family, as well as his compassionate and caring regard for others. He enjoyed fishing, sailing and helping the Moon Dawgs, his son’s popular musical group and travel throughout New England and Canada.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Florence G. Gagne of Cumberland Foreside, whom he married Aug. 10, 1946; his son, Roger P. Michaud and his wife, Penny, of Vail, Colo.; his grandchildren, Derek Michaud and Elisse Kelley, her husband, Eric and great-grandchildren, Quinn and Aidan, all of Vail, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Priscilla Bazinet; a brother-in-law, Lionel Lemieux; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Roger.
