POLAND SPRING — The Poland Spring Preservation Society has announced that the Maine Highland Fiddlers will perform as part of its weekly summer concert series at 7 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the All Souls Chapel.

The Maine Highland Fiddlers group is composed of six musicians who perform, pass on and renew the Celtic fiddle tradition in Maine. The music of Scotland, Cape Breton, Ireland and the Shetlands resonates well with the rich heritage of Maine’s early Celtic settlements. Along with fiddles, performers play guitars, bodhran, piano and occasionally get caught step-dancing.

All proceeds benefit the preservation and restoration of the Maine State Building and All Souls Chapel, both of which are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Proceeds also help to fund the nonprofit’s educational programs.

Tickets are $7.50 at the door and include refreshments.

Members of the Society may be seated at 6:25 p.m. with the general public following at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 207-998-4142 or visit www.polandspringps.org.
