NORWAY — Kimberly Weltner, a sixth-grader at the Guy E. Rowe Elementary School, has been selected by Garelick Farms as the Oxford Country winner of the Pure Happiness Design Contest.
Kimberly will receive a $500 savings bond and $500 for the art department at Guy E. Rowe Elementary School to use for art supplies or any other education-related expenses.
Earlier this spring, according to contest organizers, Garelick Farms invited Maine students in grades K-6 to submit an illustration depicting what pure happiness means to them. Sixteen winners were selected from a pool of more than 500 entrants to receive a $500 savings bond and an additional $500 for their school’s art department.
Kimberly was chosen as the Oxford County winner for her submission, “Pure happiness is at a farm for me, with a barn, weeping willow and a house on the hill.” The drawing shows a horse standing next to a barn, while a house and a weeping willow adorn the background.
“At Garelick Farms, we are passionate about encouraging happy, healthy lifestyles,” said Amy Godin, marketing director for Garelick Farms. “We received so many wonderful pieces of art and were incredibly impressed by all the talent and creativity we saw from these young students. We are thrilled that we could provide this opportunity for them to exercise their imaginations.”
Garelick Farms is headquartered in Franklin, Mass.
