LIVERMORE — Edward J. Byrne Sr., 74, a resident of Livermore, died unexpectedly Friday, June 21, at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1938, in South Boston, Mass., the son of James F. Byrne and Mildred V. (Brennen) Byrne.
He was a 1956 graduate of Jamaica Plains High School. On Sept. 21, 1985, in Peabody, Mass., he married Janet F. LeBresser of Lynn, Mass. She passed away in 2008. Ed worked as an agent for American Airlines from 1957 to 1994, when he retired. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved living in Maine.
He is survived by his son, Edward J. Byrne Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Salem, Mass.; his daughter, Patricia V. Byrne of Beverly, Mass.; grandchildren, Joshua Carpenter, Erick and Edwin Byrne; brother, Robert Byrne of Edgerton, Mass.; and his sister, Margaret Fitzgerald and her husband, Thomas, of North Reading, Mass.
He was predeceased by his wives, Judith (Doran) Byrne and Janet Byrne; daughter, Jeanne Hernadez; brothers, James, John and Thomas Byrne.
