WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Former Lewiston resident Robert Roberge recently was honored by the University of Central Missouri as a member of its 50-Year Society.
Roberge and his fellows were honored during the university’s spring commencement ceremonies May 10. The group was honored with a reception and tours of the campus on May 9, followed by recognition during the 10 a.m. commencement ceremony May 10.
Roberge is the son of the late John and Florence Roberge of Lewiston, where he attended St. Dominic High School. During his service in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, Knob Noster, Mo.
While attending Central Missouri State College, now the University of Central Missouri, he met his future wife, the late Betty Houx Roberge. They were married 57 years.
He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from UCM in 1954.
Roberge is a retired funeral director currently residing in Prairie Village, Kansas.
