LEWISTON — William E. Asselin, 99, of 57 Ridgewood Ave., Lewiston, died Thursday, June 13, at Montello Manor.
He was born in Lincoln, Nov. 28, 1913, the son of Fildes and Dora (Caron) Eslin and had been a resident of this community for all of his life.
He worked for many years in the local textile industry and doing odd jobs.
He was a member of Holy Family Church.
William enjoyed woodworking, building furniture and is best known for his banana bread.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Asselin Sr. and his wife, Laura, of Lewiston and William Asselin of Auburn; two daughters, Linda Allen and her husband, Roger, of Auburn and Joan Letourneau of Lewiston; two brothers, Ralph Asselin of Auburn and Joseph Asselin of Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline Asselin (Jacques); and a son, Gerald J. Asselin.
