LEWISTON — Eva Gertrude Reed, 84, of South Paris died Monday, June 24, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Auburn, Sept. 22, 1928, the daughter of Percy and Beatrice Harding Giles. She was educated in a one-room schoolhouse in Albion.
She had been employed at the local shoe shops. She loved to draw pictures and she made her granddaughter’s wedding dress in one night. She is survived by her sons, Freeman, Robert and Thomas, all of South Paris; two grandchildren, Peggy Holden and Anthony and his son, Joshua and Freeman “Denny” Brown Jr.; and a brother, Virgil Giles of Norway.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Newman D. Brown and John P. Reed; two brothers, Maynard Giles and Kenneth Giles; and a half sister, Camilla Bragg.
