Bakers from all over Maine gathered Saturday, June 22, to participate in the fourth annual Maine Whoopie Pie Festival in Dover-Foxcroft. Thousands of people enjoyed samples and stocking their cupboards with Maine’s state treat. Grant’s Bakery, 525 Sabattus St., Lewiston, brought 11 flavors of whoopies. Its gluten-free traditional whoopie pie won first place for “Best Healthy” whoopie pie. The bakery also took a third-place award for “Best Traditional” whoopie pie. From the left, Nicole Grant, Laural Grant and Kari Grant-Gagnon were recognized at the festival for Grant’s “Best Healthy” whoopie pie.
