It was a fine meeting held by the Androscoggin Valley Cow Testing Association on Saturday, and the forenoon session was held in the spacious parlors of Chas. L. Cushman’s elegant residence on Minot Avenue, Auburn. The members began to assemble early as there was a general desire to see the fine farm buildings, hen houses and dairy rooms of this place. These buildings are among the finest in the State. The main dairy structure is more than 200 feet long with a silo storage capacity of fifty tons. The main hen house is in the upper section and here some 400 Barred Rocks and White Leghorns may be seen.

Happy Jack’s Restaurant in Lewiston will have new owners and a new name by next week. Brothers Larry and Roger Fournier of Lewiston, who opened the restaurant 32 years ago at 1185 Lisbon St., plan to sell their business to Normand and Marguerite Bourgoin. The land and building will be sold to Del and Dave Gendron for an undisclosed price. Bourgoin, a Lewiston native, worked as the restaurant’s night manager for nine years and he has also worked at Graziano’s Restaurant in Lisbon. He says customers can expect a new name, “Boogie’s ‘Happy Jack’ Restaurant, and a few changes in its eclectic menu. The restaurant will close on July 3 for renovations and reopen on July 7. Larry Fournier said, “We’ve been at it for 32 years. We just want to retire.”
