DEAR SUN SPOTS: I received my invitation to the Farmington Area Alumni Association’s annual meeting. However, the correspondence had no date for the event. Does anyone know when this will be held? — Joseph Lord, Vienna, elord2@fairpoint.net

ANSWER: Sun Spots found many postings for this meeting from previous years, but nothing to tell her about this year’s.

Surely your letter had some contact information on it somewhere, a number you can call? Or perhaps readers can help.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does anyone know where I can buy WearGuard brand men’s jeans? My husband had some given him years ago; they wore very well. Just can’t find that brand anywhere. — No Name via email

ANSWER: According to the Internet, WearGuard brand is owned by Aramark, and you can buy those trousers online at www.aramark.com.

Perhaps other readers are fans and will know of a local source as well.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Would you or any of your readers know where to find the small cedar slats that you hang inside garment bags with wool clothing? They used to be fairly plentiful, but I haven’t been able to find any lately. Thanks. — Richard Smith, malawo1952@myfairpoint.net

ANSWER: Have you tried your local hardware store? Sun Spots found cedar disks (instead of slats) at acehardware.com, so Petro’s (965 Minot Ave., Auburn, 783-0447) should have them or be able to get them for you. Perhaps Aubuchon or other hardware stores can as well.

Sun Spots loves her hardware store. It’s rare she can’t find what she seeks.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A question was asked recently if there is a company that clears out houses after they are under contract or sold. My sister, Liz Pattison, and I own a company called SimplySized Home that does exactly this.

We are located in Yarmouth, and we help folks downsize their homes and possessions prior to moving, including clearing out all unwanted items.

We work with auction houses, a variety of donation places and trash-hauling services. — Kim Dorsky, www.simplysizedhome.com, 358-0046

DEAR SUN SPOTS: This is in response to all the companies who do house clearing. Loaves & Fishes is a Sabattus charity that raises funds by having weekly furniture and garage sales. We accept clean and usable merchandise for resale.

If you clear homes and find good used items and wish to donate them to us, please call Ellie at 577-9364. Thank you. — Claudette Therriault, Loaves & Fishes, Sabattus
