Instead, Holsapple describes his talk this way: “Most people take pictures to remind themselves of what they saw at a certain place and a certain time. I make photographs to show other people what I saw. The difference in these two tasks affects what photographs I make and how I make them. I am excited to have the opportunity to discuss this with others at one of the Harlow Gallery ArtTalks.”

Holsapple has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and an MBA. He has been a manager of foreign exchange rate risk, a chief investment officer, and an investment consultant. He is now a working artist who makes black-and-white photographs which he displays at the Harlow Gallery and at outdoor art festivals. He calls the change of careers “exhilarating.” He and his wife have lived in Texas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, England and Nebraska. They now live in Mount Vernon, Maine, which they describe as “the best place ever.”
